Systems Integration Engineer

Overview In this role you will own the end-to-end integration and field support of EO/IR payloads within customer platforms, serving as a technical bridge between engineering teams, U.S.-based customers, and prime contractors. You will drive system-level integration across hardware, software, and mechanical interfaces, diagnosing complex issues in real-world environments. The position is hands-on, high-visibility, and requires strong systems thinking, travel, and cross-functional collaboration. You will shape integrations, deployments, and field diagnostics with a focus on reliable, validated solutions. ResponsibilitiesLead EO/IR payload integration into customer platformsValidate payload-to-platform interfaces (power, data, mechanical, communication)Support prime and sub-contractor integration scenariosTranslate customer requirements into technical actionsPerform system-level troubleshooting and identify root causesExecute maintenance, assembly/disassembly, and field diagnostics of payloadsSupport software/SDK integrations and resolve related issuesRun defined tests and validate system performanceCollaborate with global engineering teams and provide training/documentationServe as primary technical interface with customers during integrations Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related)3+ years in systems engineering, integration, test engineering, or field engineeringHands-on system-level integration and troubleshooting experienceAbility to operate without detailed manuals in dynamic environmentsStrong root cause analysis and problem-solving skillsAbility to travel ~35% annually, including international trainingExperience with integrated hardware systems and payloadsElectrical wiring, connectors, and harnesses; power distribution and signal flowMechanical interfaces and physical integration; assembly/disassembly and field diagnosticsExperience with software-enabled systems or SDK-based integrations; understanding of protocols and data flowsAbility to interpret test data and communicate results clearlyExperience troubleshooting software issues related to upgrades or configurationExperience executing or supporting test procedures and system validationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCustomer-facing with ability to explain technical issues to non-specialistsSelf-starter with initiative and ownership mindsetEO/IR, ISR, radar, sensor, UAV, or defense systems (preferred)Experience with government/defense customers (preferred)Hardware-software integration, SDK-based integrations
