Human Resources Coordinator

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will oversee daily operations of the HR department, playing a pivotal role in interviewing and hiring staff, managing benefits and leaves, handling legal matters related to resort employees and ensuring compliance with company policies. Your role as a liaison between employees and benefit providers will be crucial as you resolve benefits-related issues and ensure positive employee relations. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to the HR function, which includes record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. Ideal candidates for this position should be adept at managing multiple tasks and systems simultaneously while demonstrating strong communication and organizational skills. This position requires integrity, professionalism and a high level of confidentiality especially when handling inquiries, managing incoming calls and maintaining employment files. Additionally, the HR Coordinator will contribute to organizing employee events and initiatives. Event Planner: You will also have the opportunity to organize employee appreciation events, team-building activities, and other morale-boosting events, infusing creativity into the role. Here’s more details of what you’ll get to do: Serve as the first point of contact for employees, applicants and other visitors to the Human Resources department, providing a warm and professional welcome. Meticulously maintain the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to uphold precise record-keeping. Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all candidates and new employees. Direct the day-to-day management of employee benefits including health, life and disability, retirement and other related programs. Own the annual enrollment process and assist employees in the benefits enrollment process, payroll self-service application and other tasks. Engage with employees regularly, actively listening to their concerns and referring Employee Relations issues to the Human Resources Manager when necessary. Manage all worker compensation as well as general liability claims. Lead the charge in organizing and facilitating various employee activities and events, fostering a dynamic and vibrant work environment. Assist in ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, including ACA, ADA, COBRA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA and Title VII. Perform diverse clerical duties, including but not limited to managing overflow calls, front desk coverage, filing, photo-copying, scanning, mailing, and non-routine faxing. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, discretion and confidentiality required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail. Working comprehension of HR principles, practices and procedures, preferred. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Eager to learn new practices in an ever-evolving field. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: At least two years related or business experience required. Education may be considered. SHRM-CP or PHR credential a plus but not required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Minimal periods of walking and/or standing. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
