Project Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our growing team. This role will oversee key accounting functions, including financial reporting, project accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting/forecasting.The ideal candidate is a hands-on team player with strong technical accounting knowledge and an ability to work in a collaborative, high-trust environment alongside leadership and project management teams.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & AnalysisPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsPerform variance analysis and recommend corrective actionsProvide financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting supportAssist leadership with financial insights and decision-makingGeneral Ledger & Close ProcessReview and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthlyManage intercompany and internal transactionsLead month-end and year-end close processesEnsure accuracy and integrity of financial dataBudgeting & ForecastingAssist with annual budgets and quarterly forecastsMonitor actual results against budget and analyze variancesSupport strategic planning initiativesPartner with project managers on project budgets and forecastingAccounts Payable & ReceivableMaintain and distribute weekly cash flow reportsReconcile AR and AP balancesMonitor collections and payments to manage cash flow effectivelyJob Costing & Project AccountingTrack and analyze job costs across construction projectsPartner with project managers to ensure accurate billing and profitability trackingPrepare project margin analysis and revenue recognition reportingPayrollOversee weekly payroll processingManage payroll tax filings and related reporting requirementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required5+ years of accounting experience preferredConstruction or project accounting experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with job costing and revenue recognitionProficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
