These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test packaging solutions for new and existing products.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, to define packaging requirements and specifications.Optimize packaging designs for cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency.Conduct packaging material selection, testing, and validation to ensure product integrity and compliance with industry standards.Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues during production and in the field.Develop and maintain packaging documentation, including specifications, test reports, and assembly instructions.Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and packaging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.Recommended QualificationsBachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing environment.Proven experience with various packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, corrugated, flexible films) and their properties.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for package design and development.Strong understanding of packaging machinery, automation, and manufacturing processes.Familiarity with packaging testing methods (e.g., ISTA, ASTM) and quality control standards.Bonus QualificationsExperience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD softwareKnowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practicesFamiliarity with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologiesProject management experience, from conception to launchJob Titles That Should ApplyPackaging Engineer, Packaging Development Engineer, Packaging Specialist, Packaging Technologist, Packaging Scientist, Senior Packaging Engineer, Principal Packaging Engineer, Packaging Innovation Engineer, Materials and Packaging Engineer, Supply Chain Packaging EngineerWhy The Pivot Group NetworkThe Pivot Group Network was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
