Systems Engineer
Job Description:
Candidate will support design, development, integration and test of complex avionics subsystems for the F-16 platform. Tasks include: development and analysis of system requirements, development of specifications (SRS, IRS, ICD, etc.), and test procedures, conduct of system and subsystem integration and test, and fielding, support program management, prepare and present formal design reviews, supplier oversight throughout the subsystem life cycle (development, qualification and fielding).
Familiarity MIL-STD-1553B, Ethernet, federated and integrated avionics design principles, Cyber Security, RF, and Objector Oriented Software Design principles a plus.
Experience in System Design and/or Requirements Analysis
Responsible to the F-16 Chief Engineer for serving as an Airworthiness subject matter expert
Ensures all F-16 programs adequately address Technical Airworthiness
Leads team of electrical and mechanical engineers, aircraft technicians, and logisticians
Assist in producing an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), System Requirements Documents, Statements of Work and performing Technical Evaluations for vendor's cost estimates
Support Program Design Reviews and Functional and Physical Configuration Audits
Identify engineering milestone entry and exit criteria
Prepare and participate in test coordination for test events, such as Ground and Flight Test
Brief monthly program status to management
Coordinates with other divisions, offices, and vendors to ensure specialized engineering activities (Information Assurance, Airworthiness, OSS&E, Quality Assurance) are properly integrated at the system level
Participate in the risk management process by identifying risk, developing risk mitigation strategies, and tracking risk burn-down activities
Assists the Technical Order (TO) and the Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) sustainment process
Attending training courses relevant to the above duties
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Electrical or Systems Engineering)
At least 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering
Experience in design, development, and verification of aeronautical systems
Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards (MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-HDBK-516)
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance
