Performance Engineer

You will define how performance is tested, measured, and enforced across cloud-native, data-intensive, and ML-driven systems. This is a high-impact role where your work directly influences platform reliability, campaign delivery, and revenue protection.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and scale the performance engineering function, including tools, frameworks, and standardsDesign and implement performance testing strategies across distributed, containerized systemsBuild and manage performance test environments in AWS/GCPDefine performance benchmarks, SLAs, and readiness gates for production systemsDevelop and execute load, stress, and endurance tests using modern toolingAnalyze logs, metrics, and traces to identify bottlenecks and performance risksImplement observability frameworks to monitor system health and performance at scaleCollaborate with engineering, data, and ML teams to embed performance best practices early in the development lifecycleOptimize system performance across compute, storage, networking, and application layersContinuously improve performance testing methodologies and automationBasic Qualifications3+ years of experience in Performance Engineering2+ years working with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, or Kibana2+ years of experience in AWS or GCP, including EKS and/or GKE1+ year of hands-on experience with load testing tools (k6, Locust, JMeter) in distributed or containerized environments1+ year of experience building and running performance test environments in AWS1+ year of experience analyzing logs, metrics, and traces to troubleshoot performance issuesStrong understanding of Linux performance diagnostics (CPU, memory, disk, network)Preferred QualificationsProven experience building a performance engineering practice from scratchExperience testing cross-cloud latency and connectivityHands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure tuning during performance testingExperience evaluating performance of data platforms and AI/ML workloads (e.g., BigQuery, Vertex AI)Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Go, Bash)Experience in Retail Media, AdTech, or high-concurrency platforms where performance directly impacts revenue
