Job SummaryThe Front Office Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors. This position plays a vital role in creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment while ensuring the front office operates efficiently. The receptionist supports daily school operations, communication, and student safety procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesFront Office & Customer ServiceGreet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional mannerAnswer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to general inquiriesMaintain a welcoming and child-friendly front office environmentStudent Safety & AttendanceMonitor visitor check-in/check-out procedures and ensure campus safety protocols are followedVerify identification and manage visitor badgesAssist with student check-in, tardies, and early dismissals according to campus proceduresMaintain accurate attendance records and communicate absences as neededCommunication & SupportCommunicate effectively with parents regarding student needs, messages, and campus proceduresAssist teachers and administrators with relaying information to familiesSupport communication for transportation changes and student pickupsClerical & Administrative DutiesMaintain student records and files in compliance with confidentiality lawsManage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveriesAssist with data entry, filing, copying, and other clerical tasksSupport enrollment/registration processes as neededHealth & Student NeedsAssist with minor student needs (comforting upset children, basic first aid support, contacting nurse/parent when needed)Support front office coordination during emergencies or drillsCampus SupportCollaborate with administrators, teachers, and support staffAssist with campus events, parent communication, and special programsProvide support during arrival, dismissal, and high-traffic timesRequired Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)Previous office or customer service experience (school setting preferred)Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young children and familiesAbility to multitask and remain calm in a busy environmentBasic computer skills (email, data systems, office software)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all timesWork Environment:Fast-paced elementary school settingFrequent interaction with young children, families, and staffMay require standing, walking, and occasional lifting of light itemsAdditional Expectations:Uphold district policies and safety proceduresSupport a positive, inclusive, and child-centered school cultureMaintain a professional appearance and demeanor
