Structural Team Leader (Evening Shift)

SummaryLeads and participates in the work of a crew engaged in performing skilled structural maintenance and repair tasks.QualificationsRequiredAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.Three (3) years of experience in the structural maintenance trade.Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis, accept call-back overtime or regular overtime, and/or agree to assume an emergency call-out list status.Knowledge and skills in the use of the methods, equipment, and tools pertinent to the structural maintenance trade.Knowledge of common hazards and necessary safety precautions.Knowledge of local, state, and national codes.Knowledge of basic computer skills.Ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals.Capability to estimate time and material needs, determine when the repair is not economically practical, and perform routine tasks and arithmetical computations.Ability to work with subordinate employees.Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.PreferredCompletion of an acceptable apprentice-level training program.Major Duties/Essential FunctionsLeads and participates in the maintenance and repair in various structural trade areas including painting, masonry, glazing, flooring, furniture repair, carpentry work, or other structural trade maintenance work.Performs work at schools, centers, and administrative buildings or in a shop.Drives a vehicle to and from locations and keeps the vehicle supplied with tools and materials.Performs operator maintenance on the vehicle and keeps it in orderly condition.Keeps records and makes reports of work accomplished and materials used.Performs other related duties as required or assigned.Work Environment/Physical RequirementsThis job requires strength, agility, dexterity, and visual acuity to perform all tasks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must adhere to all site safety regulations and may be required to regularly stand, sit, walk, bend, climb ladders, and/or kneel. There may be exposure to extreme heat and cold, outdoor environments, heavy equipment, moving machinery, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noises.
