Job Title: Production Scheduler Reports to: Plant ManagerJob SummaryThe Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the Company's production schedule at each of its production facilities. This position will be responsible for effective communication of production plans between Project Management, Purchasing, Production Supervision, and Shipping. The Production Scheduler will schedule jobs to meet the required ship date and will escalate any capacity concerns as needed. This position will coordinate with purchasing to assure timely order and receipt of materials required for production.Essential Duties to include:Coordinating and developing production schedules dailyAnalyzing daily schedules to determine capacity on a plant level as well as a department levelProduction-planning oversight to ensure that production operations are meeting shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer ordersCommunicate effectively with Production Supervisors/Operations Managers to set weekly schedules and help resolve scheduling issues, priority orders, and other special instructionsReviews allocation of jobs to assure all adequate raw material levelsMonitor, analyze, and order raw materials from vendorsLead inventory accuracy initiatives throughout the plantDevelop capacity plans to support varying levels of demandProficiently uses ERP system.Required Skills and AbilitiesStrong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex dataExcellent interpersonal skills as well as developed oral and written communication skills to deal with internal and external relationshipsRemain highly organized, flexible, and able to react well to immediate issues with attention to detail and deadlines which includes prompt responses to daily emails and phone requestsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet expected goals on timeTeamwork within all departments will be necessaryMotivated to go beyond the job description to ensure the work meets or exceeds expectationsDemonstrate appropriate reading, clerical, analytical and math skillsAbility to maintain accurate data, both in computer system and/or manually and to communicate information to all levels of management as requiredSolid MS Word and have advanced skills in ExcelDemonstrate excellent communications skills (in person, by telephone, and in writing), including a professional, self-confident imageAbility to effectively challenge the current ways of working and contribute to process improvement initiativesAbility to work both independently and in a team environment without direct supervisionHave a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personalityEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentPreferred planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing setting.Physical RequirementsBe able to handle items weighing up to 50 pounds. Driver QualificationThe ability to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of the company may be required. Inclusion in the company's driver qualification program is required to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle. Becoming a qualified driver includes:Agree to the company driving policies that apply to company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle as applicable.Possess and maintain a valid driver license and be a minimum of 21 years of age.Maintain an acceptable driving record, as evidenced by completion of a baseline motor vehicle record check and ongoing monitoring.When driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company, must provide a copy of the declaration page from personal auto insurance that shows the policy dates and minimum coverage amounts ($300,000 bodily injury per accident/$100,000 property damage per accident or if driving less than 5 hours/200 miles a year $50,000 bodily injury per accident/$10,000 property damage per accident or the state minimum, whichever is more).
