Tax Senior - Real Estate

Audit and assurance services are provided by Elliott Davis, LLC (doing business in NC and D.C. as Elliott Davis, PLLC), a licensed CPA firm.Job SummaryAs a Tax Senior in the Real Estate Group, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive tax services to individual and business clients within the real estate sector. You will apply your specialized tax knowledge to prepare and review preparing intermediate level returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. As a tax senior, you will oversee and delegate assignments, guiding associates, and ensuring timely completion of engagements. Your proactive approach in engagements and fostering a collaborative work environment will contribute to the overall success and growth of the firm. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor and role model, providing constructive feedback and support to develop the skills of your colleagues.ResponsibilitiesApply tax knowledge to intermediate level flow-through returns and all levels of individual returnsReview basic tax return engagementsWork effectively in analyzing business transactionsPerform complete & efficient reviews of individual and business tax returns while providing guidance to other staffGather data from customer, A&A department, and third party sourcesPerform tax research with view for alternatives to satisfy customer's objectivesResolve all open items/issues encountered on assigned engagementsActively monitor engagement economics by managing budgets and seeking efficienciesDirect and control concurrent assignments to successful completionBottom-line management of assigned engagements and individual productivity opportunities, becoming a subject-matter expert in one or more technical aspectsTeach, develop and oversee staff through engagements; delegate assignments and tasksProvide honest, objective and constructive feedback in timely manner to staffCollaborate to identify and sell opportunities among existing customersServe as a mentor and role model through active participation in firm committees, departmental matters, and eventsOther duties within scope of practiceRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2+ years of recent public accounting experienceCPA certification or significant progress towards certificationReal Estate experience preferred, but not necessaryAbility to prepare and/or review complete set of financial statementsStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective analytical and problem-solving abilityStrong time and work management skills#LI-EG1#LI-HYBRIDWHY YOU SHOULD JOIN USWe believe that when our employees are able to thrive in all facets of life, their work and impact are that much greater.That's right – all aspects of life, not just your life as an employee, because we understand that there's life beyond your job.
