Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer

Overview We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our Gravel Pit team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various types of heavy equipment. Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring efficient and safe operations Perform tasks including digging, lifting, moving material and loading Follow safety guidelines and protocols for each piece of equipment operated Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers in accordance with safety standards and project specifications Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling to ensure project progress Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal operation Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively Read and interpret construction plans and diagrams as needed Candidates should be committed to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning in the heavy equipment operation field. Skills Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures Ability to work on diverse construction projects including paving and horizontal drilling Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions Physical stamina for long hours working outdoors in varying weather conditions Experience Heavy Equipment Operation - 2 years preferred Experience loading trucks with loader Qualification: Valid Driver's License Reliable Transportation MSHA training a plus but will train the right candidate Pay: From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Vision insurance Work Location: In person
