Systems Engineer II – Cloud & DevOps

General Info: US Citizen or GC Holders onlyMust be on our W2: No C2CRemote however candidates must be local to St Louis, MO Job Summary:As an Engineer 2, you will use your technical expertise and professional knowledge to solve complex business and technology problems. This role serves as a subject matter expert within your area of focus and supports the evaluation, design, and improvement of technical solutions through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environmentsDevelop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform (HCL)Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Maven/GradleDevelop and support automation scripts using Groovy, Bash (Linux Shell), and PythonDeploy, configure, and maintain infrastructure and applications across environmentsSupport end-to-end application platforms, including:Java-based backend services (Apache, Tomcat, Spring Boot)Frontend applications built with Node.js and TypeScriptTroubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application, and deployment issuesEnsure solutions meet non-functional requirements including security, compliance, performance, and costCollaborate across teams to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and process improvementEvaluate system effectiveness through testing, research, and analysisProvide recommendations to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiencyRequired Qualifications:Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (current or future)3+ years of related engineering or DevOps experienceHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Maven/Gradle, or similar tools)Strong scripting experience with Groovy, Bash (Linux Shell), and PythonExperience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC), specifically Terraform and HCLExperience building and supporting cloud infrastructure in AWS, including services such as EC2, EBS, S3, CloudFront, Route53, and othersExperience supporting full-stack application environments, including Java backend services and Node.js/TypeScript applicationsExperience working with content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root cause and drive resolutionExcellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teamsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldAWS cloud certificationsExperience with automation tools such as Chef or similar configuration management toolsStrong automation mindset with focus on repeatable and scalable processesUnderstanding of networking concepts including DNS, firewalls, routing, CDN/edge services, and certificate management
