We are looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator Lead in the city of Commerce, CA. . This is a contract to hire opportunity to join our Shipping department!
Schedule (2nd Shift) Monday-Thurs (3pm- 11:30pm) Fridays (1pm- 9:30pm)
Pay: $27-28/hour

Reports To: Branch Manager
Essential Responsibilities: The Admin & Operations Specialist performs a variety of administrative tasks necessary to support Admin, Operations & Sales functions.
Handling receiving paperwork and tallies as well as receiving inventory and buyouts into Metalware system
Responsible for the resolution of routine quality matters, damage claims or paperwork discrepancies with incoming material
Coordinate rejected material returns to the proper mill or supplier and manage Atlanta Branch Customer Credit Returns
Support Operations, Admin & Sales in ordering warehouse and office supplies
Assist Operations Manager & Branch Manager with cultivating our Corporate Safety Program at the Atlanta branch
Aid the Operations Manager and Branch Manager in promoting Lean and 5s initiatives
Support the Operations Manager and Branch Manager with Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives
Assist the Operations manager with the hiring process and on boarding of new employees
Assist Operations Manager in training employees including scheduling and maintaining records
Support the Operations Manager with internal Sales Service related activities
Provide backup support for Admin personnel in test reports, production control and shipping functions as well as backup support for duties related to shipping and loading of trucks
Other duties and responsibilities as directed by management
This position will require some flexibility when serving as backup to shipping and loading activities. Working hours while performing these functions will be 11 AM to 8 PM. The frequency for this back up responsibility will range between 2 and 4 weeks per year.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience in Logistics & Operations: Demonstrated experience in managing material receiving, processing paperwork, and resolving quality issues, damage claims, or discrepancies with incoming materials. Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics coordination.
Knowledge of Inventory Systems: Proficient in inventory management systems like Metalware system for receiving, tracking, and managing material returns, and ensuring accurate records.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Adept at working closely with Operations and Branch Managers to support operational efficiency and safety initiatives, while providing administrative backup when needed.
Multitasking & Organizational Skills: Strong ability to handle various tasks related to logistics, operations, quality control, and administrative functions. Proven capability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
