Job DescriptionThe Program Manager leads cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver large-scale custom air handling product development projects. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with AAON’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and organizational skills to manage complex programs from concept through completion. Success in this role requires collaboration across engineering, operations, and external partners. The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of product development programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.DutiesPrimary duties may include, but are not limited to: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource needs.Lead cross-functional teams to execute product development projects in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, and vendors to ensure project success.Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and executive leadership.Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and monitoringOptimize resource allocation and coordinate with resource managers to address staffing needs.Implement quality assurance processes to meet industry and customer standards.Education And Experience RequirementsRequires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field,or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesStrong technical background with knowledge of HVAC systems and product developmentProven leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in project management tools and softwareStrategic thinking and problem-solving capabilitiesOr any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.Essential Mental And Physical FunctionsThis role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to manage complex projects across multiple departments. The Program Manager must be able to make decisions, solve problems, and communicate effectively in a dynamic environment.Ability to sit for prolonged periods during planning and meetingsOccasional standing and walking, including visits to the manufacturing floorVisual and auditory acuity for reviewing technical documents and participating in meetingsComfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments, including exposure to seasonal temperatures, dust, and fumesWork EnvironmentThe Program Manager will primarily work in a professional, climate-controlled office environment at AAON’s corporate headquarters. However, the role also requires regular interaction with the manufacturing floor and occasional travel.Office-based work with standard business hours.Periodic visits to manufacturing areas, which may involve exposure to seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and chemical fumes.Travel required approximately 25–30% of the time for site visits, vendor meetings, or project coordination.Benefits And Compensation SummaryWe take care of our people.
