Accounting Intern (Louisville)

A growing legal services firm in Downtown Louisville is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accounting Clerk to support daily accounting and administrative operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to begin or grow a career in accounting within a professional office environment.The Accounting Clerk will assist with accounts payable, billing, data entry, reconciliations, and general financial support functions while working closely with attorneys, office leadership, and administrative staff.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & ReceivableEnter vendor invoices and process payments in a timely mannerAssist with tracking incoming payments and applying cash receiptsMaintain accurate financial records and filing systemsRespond to vendor and client billing inquiries professionallyBilling SupportAssist with legal billing processes, including reviewing time entries and preparing invoicesHelp ensure invoices comply with client billing guidelinesSupport monthly billing cycles and follow-up documentation requestsAccounting & Administrative SupportPerform data entry and maintain accounting records with accuracyAssist with bank reconciliations and expense trackingPrepare spreadsheets and financial reports using Microsoft ExcelSupport month-end close activities and special accounting projectsMaintain confidentiality of financial and client informationQualificationsAssociate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferredInternship, bookkeeping, or office experience is a plusStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsBasic understanding of accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional demeanor and willingness to learnPreferred SkillsExperience with accounting or billing softwareData entry accuracy and time management skillsCustomer service or administrative office experienceAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentBenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidays401(k) with company matchProfessional development opportunitiesStable downtown office environment with career growth potential
