Medium Voltage Electrician

Position Summary: This position operates and maintains medium voltage switchgear and controls along with having responsibility for operating equipment. Duties can involve some technical elements such as troubleshooting repairs but primarily is focused on running equipment and systems. Role is hands-on and directly manipulates the equipment requiring precise operation.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAbility to work rotational schedule, including long and/or occasionally irregular hoursExperience working with medium voltage electricityResponsible for connecting electrical cablesExperienced in lock out tag outExperience in groundingExperienced in meggering cablesMust understand proper use of basic toolsMust be willing to develop a working knowledge of fleet equipmentAbility to trouble shoot and work thru problems efficientlyModerate use of hand and power tools to work with and repair mechanical and electrical equipmentBe able to complete certifications on multiple pieces of company owned or leased machinesMechanically and electrically inclinedWill be required to complete all training including Flash Arc Training and Basic Electrical Safety Training as providedMust properly use ladders and safety harnessesMust be able to determine appropriate level of personal protective equipment (PPE) needed for the specific assigned taskMust possess the ability to self-supervise on daily tasks & metricsAbility to work with a team and standalone for multiple hoursMust present equipment, tools, and self in an orderly and tidy mannerBe available by phone while on scheduled rotationAble to operate a company vehicle in a safe manner as well as maintain a clean driving recordComply with all safety standards and proceduresOversee safety and environmental requirements while operating equipment onsite along with assisting with incident response and investigations as neededOn time completion of all assigned trainingPromotes ethical behavior in all aspects of the business and lead by exampleComputer literate with the ability to utilize online forms/automationAll other duties and responsibilities as assigned by SupervisorOther RequirementsAbility to work 14 days on, 7 days off rotations traveling domestically. Less travel if local to San Anotonio, Abilene, Houston TX or Covington GAMinimum 1-2+ years related experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry, service rental or electrical industryHigh School diploma, skilled labor certificate or equivalentWillingness to work in exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, in addition to working at heights.Ability to stoop, sit, stand, or be on their feet for extended period of timesAble to life 25 pounds up to 10 times per shiftMechanical/Electrical AptitudeValid Driver’s LicenseGood written and verbal communication skillsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
