Special Police Officer Part Time NightsThe weekly schedule for this position will be every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night from 11pm-7:30am. This is an unarmed position responsible for providing protection and security for patients, employees, visitors, hospital grounds and assets as assigned.QualificationsRequired Licenses and Certifications:High School Diploma or GED (Required)Prior security experience strongly preferredMust obtain Special Police Officer Commission within 60 Days of hire date (Required)Job Functions:Patrols hospital and surrounding grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and intrudersMonitors conduct of visitors and questions unauthorized persons when necessaryReports to occurrences such as violence, disorderly conduct, theft, etc.Interacts with MPD as requiredReports safety concerns, fire hazards and protective service violationsEscorts staff and visitors to parking garage and other hospital areas upon requestEnforces established hospital/departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, environmental and infection control, safety, etc.Proficiently operate CCTV, Card Access and other security systemsStaff the Command Center and proficiently operate telephone systemStaff the reception desk and assist visitors in a professional mannerAttends QBS/Safety-Care TrainingResponds and assists with patients displaying aggressive behaviorRespond to all internal codes emergency codesMay serve as the Lead Officer in the absence of the Shift SupervisorMay perform other duties in addition to those outlined in this job descriptionPrimary Location: District of Columbia-WashingtonWork Locations: Rehab and Specialized Care 1731 Bunker Hill Road NE Washington 20017
