Assistant Controller
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller, this position combines accounting, financial analysis, manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will help ensure accurate financial information while providing management with meaningful analysis to support business decisions and improve profitability.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Assist with monthly and year-end financial close and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
* Serve as a key financial resource for the company's ERP system and help identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and efficiency.
* Analyze product costs, inventory, labor, overhead, and manufacturing variances.
* Monitor inventory and working capital and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight.
* Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and monthly financial analysis.
* Prepare management reports, KPIs, dashboards, and variance analysis. Develop financial models and advanced Excel analyses to support management decisions.
* Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to identify cost savings and improve profitability.
* Manage and review general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet accounts.
* Support external audits and provide required financial schedules and documentation.
* Work with Fischer Panda entities in Germany and Brazil on intercompany matters, reporting, budgeting, and consolidation.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
* 5+ years of progressive controlling, accounting, or financial analysis, preferably in manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance.
* Manufacturing ERP experience; experience with ERP optimization is a plus.
* Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statements.
* Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, complex formulas, and financial modeling.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial teams.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
