Job Title: Monson Scoops Associate Seasonal   Department: Monson General Store Location: 12 Greenville Rd, Monson, ME Reports To: Monson General Store Manager Status: Hourly/Non-exempt Wage/Salary: $16.00 SUMMARY The Monson General Store has an opening for a year-round, part time position. Monson General Store is a gem in Northern Maine and our Store is seeing unprecedented growth. We are looking for friendly individuals with great personalities that can work quickly - but not get too stressed - in a fast-paced environment. The Monson Scoops Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service by preparing and serving ice cream cones, sundaes, and milkshakes in a clean and organized environment.   Come work in an amazing store, on a beautiful store with a great and friendly team. This is a seasonal position that will require closing shifts (working until 7:00pm) and 1 weekend day of availability (Saturday or Sunday). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Greeting customers and taking their orders; ensuring a friendly, professional customer service experience. Scooping ice cream and toppings, ensuring accurate measurements and consistency in product quality Handle cash and operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems Keep serving area, equipment, and tables clean and sanitized Restock ice cream, cones, toppings, and other supplies as needed Prepare salads, and will also require some bakery prep work using an oven. Monitor inventory levels, keep displays stocked and fresh, rotate and label products. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, following all company and government food safety protocols. Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards. Ensure a positive customer experience in a fast-paced environment. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  High School diploma or GED Experience in a retail food service environment preferred     LANGUAGE SKILLS  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  REASONING ABILITY  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works primarily indoors, outdoor temperatures may become warm during summer months. Based on customer volume the work environment may be fast-paced and physically demanding, especially during peak hours. Required to work in both hot and cold environments. May be near moving mechanical parts due to equipment use. The employee is exposed to cleaning chemicals. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
