Job Title: Principal Data Engineer – Azure Databricks Location Hybrid – Milpitas CA 4 days per weekPay Rate: $70-75/hr on w2Principal Data Engineer – Azure DatabricksWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer – Azure Databricks to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse solutions on Azure. This senior-level role within the Analytics organization will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and governed analytics platforms that support critical business functions across Procurement, Vendor Management, and Inventory domains.The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on engineering expertise, strong business domain knowledge, and proven experience leading complex cross-functional data initiatives in enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and manage enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse solutions using Azure Databricks.Build scalable and secure data platforms by ingesting, transforming, and delivering trusted data products.Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data processing frameworks.Implement embedded governance, security, and data quality controls across analytics platforms.Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver analytics solutions for Procurement, Vendor Management, Supply Chain, and Inventory functions.Drive technical architecture decisions, best practices, and performance optimization initiatives.Lead cross-functional project delivery in Agile environments and provide program updates to leadership teams.Required Qualifications10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Enterprise Data Platforms.Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and modern cloud data architectures.Proven experience building and managing data products with embedded governance and security.Expertise in data ingestion, transformation, and enterprise analytics solutions.Strong hands-on expertise in:Azure DatabricksPySparkSpark SQLPythonDelta LakeAzure Data Factory (ADF)Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)Data Lakehouse ArchitectureStrong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT frameworks, and distributed data processing.Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse solutions.Experience working within Procurement, Inventory, Vendor Management, or Supply Chain Analytics domains.Strong technical program management and stakeholder management capabilities.Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and business stakeholders.ThanksUpendra
