The provider will evaluate and treat patients, manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe treatments, provide preventive care, and collaborate with healthcare teams in a military outpatient clinic setting.The Physician Assistant will support military readiness, maintain accurate medical documentation, and comply with DHA, MTF, and Joint Commission standards while participating in required training and quality improvement activities.General DutiesProvide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Director.Perform all duties in accordance with the contract Performance Work Statement (PWS), DHA policies, and MTF regulations.Maintain professional standards, clinical competency, patient confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.Participate in peer review, quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement activities.Utilize electronic medical record systems including MHS GENESIS, CHCS, AHLTA, and Essentris as required.Maintain responsiveness to official government communications, including DHA email and voicemail systems.Comply with infection control, safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and annual mandatory training requirements. Specific DutiesProvide patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up careManage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and minor injuriesConduct physicals, wellness visits, immunizations, and preventive carePrescribe medications and treatments within scope of practicePerform authorized diagnostic and therapeutic proceduresCoordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and specialistsMaintain accurate electronic medical documentationEducate patients and families on treatment and health managementSupport military readiness and occupational health requirementsParticipate in mandatory training, continuing education, and quality improvement activities QualificationsDegree:Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.Education:Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).CertificationCurrent certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtained within three months of start dateNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or obtained within three months of start dateAdvanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification required or obtained within six months of start date ExperienceExperience sufficient to meet DHA clinical competency and credentialing requirements. Employees receive a one-hour lunch break. Work Environment:This position is performed in a military outpatient healthcare clinic environment within the 633rd Medical Group at Langley Air Force Base.
