Vice President, Land DevelopmentAs a Vice President, Land Development working for Taylor Morrison you will manage the Land Development Team through the engineering, entitlement and development processes needed to supply the Division with timely developed lots. You will work collaboratively with all functional peers as a member of the Division Leadership Team.Job Responsibilities:Develop land committee package for presentation to the Investment CommitteeSupervise land acquisition escrows and title workWork effectively and efficiently with the Land Planners, Engineers, and Contractors to ensure land development on time and at or under budgetNegotiate land development contracts with various vendors, trades and contractorsDirect land development activities both internally as well as in the fieldUtilize general market research focusing on regional employment, demographics, sales volume, and competition levelsIn collaboration with Division leadership team, create an annual strategic land plan to support the Division's overall strategic planYou are willing to perform other duties as assignedCompetencies, Behaviors & Attributes:Business AcumenCustomer FocusDeveloping Direct Reports and OthersDrive for ResultsPriority SettingSelf-KnowledgeQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or meet the minimum requirement for number of years of direct experienceMinimum ten years of experience in land developmentAbility to anticipate possible obstacles and propose favorable solutionsStrong work ethic and commitment to implementation and executionConcise writing and public speaking/presentation skills are desirableStrong computer skillsStrong negotiating skillsAttention to detailProven track record of leadershipFLSA Status: ExemptResponsibilities such as:Interviewing, selecting, and training employees;Setting rates of pay and hours of work;Appraising productivity; handling employee grievances or complaints, or disciplining employees;Determining work techniques;Planning the work;Apportioning work among employees;Determining the types of equipment to be used in performing work, or materials needed;Planning budgets for work;Monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance;Providing for safety and security of the workplaceEssential Functions:Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to scheduleAbility to oversee direct reports daily and provide guidance as neededAbility to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic deviceAbility to have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher level managerAbility to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as neededAbility to operate a motor vehicleComply with company policies and procedurePhysical Demands:Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the timeThe ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 poundsBenefits of Working With Taylor Morrison:Competitive CompensationHealth Care - Medical/Dental/Visio??n/Prescription??
