Environmental Test Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Environmental Test Technician in Austin, TX for a 9 month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role performs operational and environmental stress screening tests on complex electronic production components and subassemblies. You will set up and operate vibration and thermal cycling equipment, follow standard test methods and procedures, and compile complete test data packages including quality and defect records.Required SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalentDirect experience working on Unholtz-Dickie or similar vibration systems supporting engineering qualification effortsVibration profile development experienceExperience with Thermotron temperature chambersExperience setting up and operating vibration systems and thermal cycling equipment to perform environmental tests (temperature and vibration)Experience using monitoring/control instrumentation including temperature controls, thermocouples, data loggers, vibration controls, accelerometer systems, and pressure/air flow instrumentationExperience using test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, and other electronic instrumentationAbility to conduct simulated environmental tests by following standard test methods/procedures and engineering instructions (written and/or verbal)Ability to process and compile product data into complete data packages, including quality information and defect recordingAbility to maintain test logbooks with pertinent test informationBasic computer skills in a Windows environmentSelf-starter able to work independently and in a team environmentPreferred SkillsRF testing experienceWhat You'll DoPerform operational tests on complex electronic production components and subassembliesSupport engineering and production teams by setting up and operating vibration and thermal cycling equipmentSet up and use monitoring/control instrumentation (temperature/thermocouples/data logging, vibration controls/accelerometers, pressure and airflow)Execute simulated environmental tests (ESS) using standard methods and proceduresCompile complete test data packages, including quality documentation and defect recordingMaintain detailed test logbooks and support additional duties as assignedAssist higher classified technicians with more complex tests as neededWork Schedule / ShiftTemporary training schedule: Mon Thu (4/10)After training/certification: Fri Sun (3/12)Job ID: 7353"Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
