We are engaged with a fast-scaling contract manufacturing business to recruit a senior engineering executive responsible for shaping the capability, structure, and impact of the engineering organization.The Head of Engineering will carry end-to-end accountability for engineering performance across the product life cycle early customer engagement and program readiness through production ramp, optimization, and long-term support. This position oversees multiple engineering disciplines, including program introduction, manufacturing and process engineering, test development, and continuous improvement, ensuring these functions operate cohesively and at scale.Primary ResponsibilitiesBuild, structure, and lead a high-impact engineering organization capable of supporting aggressive growth and increasing program complexityDefine technical priorities and operating standards that align engineering outcomes with commercial and operational objectivesAct as a strategic partner to senior leadership on capacity planning, capital investment, and long-term capability developmentOwn engineering execution from customer engagement through stable production rampLead initiatives to improve throughput, yield, and cost performance across production operationsIntroduce and standardize best practices in process control, automation strategy, tooling, and equipment optimizationChampion lean manufacturing principles and data-driven decision-making within engineering and operationsDrive disciplined, repeatable launch processes that reduce risk and accelerate time-to-productionPartner closely with customers and internal stakeholders to improve designs for manufacturability, testability, reliability, and costAttract, develop, and retain top engineering talent across multiple disciplinesEnsure engineering practices remain compliant with applicable industry and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, IPC, customer-specific requirements)Partner cross-functionally to embed quality and compliance into engineering processes rather than treating them as checkpointsBackground & ExperienceBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or related); advanced degree preferredMinimum of 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience in contract manufacturing, or similarly complex manufacturing environmentsDemonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across program launch, manufacturing optimization, and testStrong working knowledge of PCB assemblyPrior experience in component manufacturing, semiconductor operations, or upstream production environments is strongly preferredProven ability to scale engineering organizations while maintaining execution maturity
