Position Title : Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Location : Austin, TX/ Fort Mills, SC/ Atlanta, GA/ Chicago, IL/ Dallas, TX / New York, NY (Onsite/Hybrid) Experience : 8+ Years Employee Type : Full Time with Benefits Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about building scalable and intelligent automation solutions to ensure high-quality software delivery.The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on Playwright experience in their current project (non-negotiable) and demonstrate deep expertise in modern test automation practices, AI-assisted development tools, and integrated quality engineering.You will work within a cross-functional team of hardware, firmware, software, system, and test engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions for a Financial Services platform supporting Advisor, Investor, and Business applications.Key ResponsibilitiesAutomate test cases using a Playwright-based test automation frameworkUtilize Cursor AI / AI-enabled IDEs to accelerate test script development, refactoring, and code optimizationActively use Playwright in the current/most recent project with hands-on contributionLeverage MCP server capabilities to integrate AI-assisted workflows into the Playwright framework, enabling dynamic test generationIntegrate AI-assisted code generation and validation workflows to enhance test coverage and reduce manual scripting effortPerform UI and API testing using modern automation tools and frameworksDevelop and maintain automation scripts using Python, TypeScript, and/or .NETImplement BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) practices using tools like CucumberWork with Atlassian JIRA for Agile Scrum processes and defect trackingUse Zephyr for test case management, execution tracking, and reportingUtilize Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharingCollaborate with engineering and product teams to understand requirements and system architectureCreate and maintain test data scenarios to support test plans and executionAnalyze test results and actively advocate for quality across all phases of developmentTrack defects through resolution and provide clear test status reporting to stakeholdersContribute to automation infrastructure using internal and open-source toolsParticipate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver high-quality softwareBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field7+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or SDETStrong experience with test processes, methodologies, and automation frameworksMandatory : Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or similar toolsProficiency in Python, TypeScript, Java, JavaScript, or .NETExperience in UI, API, and End-to-End automation testingProficient in SQL with the ability to understand and write complex queries for data validation and analysisExperience with JIRA and Zephyr for defect tracking and test managementExperience using Confluence for documentation and collaborationHands-on experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)Ability to act as an SME and promote automation best practicesProven ability to drive process improvements and quality initiativesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated experience in release cycles and project deliveryPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science or related fieldAI & Modern Tooling: MCP (Model Context Protocol), Cursor AI, AI-assisted development toolsStrong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practicesExperience with tools like Appium, TestNG, SaucelabsPrior experience in Agile Scrum teamsFinancial Services domain experienceExpertise in SOAP/REST web services testingExperience with Git/SVN version control systemsExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)If your Interested, Kindly, share us your resume on abuzar.umar@capgemini.comLife At CapgeminiCapgemini supports all aspects of your well-being throughout the changing stages of your life and career.
