Job Details Assistant General Manager The Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Mamou (“the Restaurant”) is responsible for setting the tone of the dining room prior to, during, and after service. You must be enthusiastic, professional, calm under pressure, and hospitality driven. You are expected to take ownership of the dining room in a confident, respectful manner, as directed by the General Manager, Ownership, and Executive Chef. Duties of the AGM The AGM’s shift begins at 2:00 pm and ends at the completion of closing duties, after dinner service. This schedule is for five days per week, with part time being an option for the right candidate. (The opening months may call for additional hours, but quality of life is important to the company, and we aim to keep this role sustainable.) Subject to the provisions of this Agreement, the AGM shall have decision-making authority in the day-to-day execution of front-of-house service , subject to the final approval of the General Manager, Ownership, and Executive Chef. The AGM’s authority and obligations shall include: Helping guide guests, when requested by the guest, for the right glass or bottle of wine, cocktail, or mocktail pairing Leading the dining room during service and maintaining consistent service standards Supporting the hiring, training, supervision, and development of dining room personnel under the direction of the General Manager Enforcing best practices for safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in all front-of-house areas Ensuring effective communication between FOH staff and maintaining a secure, professional, and friendly working environment Guiding and coaching the FOH team daily to ensure high motivation, accountability, and efficient service Consulting daily with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and Maître d' regarding reservations, pacing, special events, and last-minute changes Acting as an on-floor point of contact for guests and staff during service Touching tables and assisting in creating memorable guest experiences Ensuring all FOH stations, side stations, and service areas are clean, organized, and stocked Enforcing completion of opening, mid-shift, and closing checklists for Servers, Server Assistants, Hosts, and Bartenders Coordinating with the Bar Lead during service to ensure proper beverage execution Assisting with FOH stocktaking and communicating supply needs to the General Manager Setting an example for personal hygiene, professionalism, and hospitality on and off duty Opening Duties Be presentable and in full uniform by the start of the shift Walk the dining room to ensure the close from the night before was completed properly (floors, bathrooms, stations, storage areas) Ensure tables, chairs, lighting, music, and overall ambiance are set according to standards Coordinate with the Maître d' to ensure floor plans and station assignments are updated Confirm menus are accurate and available as directed by the General Manager Ensure wine is put away properly and BTG wine is properly stocked for the shift Scanning in and organizing all invoices that come in daily Assist with pre-shift setup and staff readiness Pre-Shift Support the General Manager during pre-shift at 4:15 pm Ensure all FOH staff are present, in proper uniform, and prepared for service Reinforce nightly service notes, pacing expectations, and hospitality standards Assist with final countdown items so the dining room is guest-ready by 4:55 pm Service Lead the dining room with calm, confident hospitality Maintain a professional and respectful environment at all times Coordinate seating flow and pacing with the Maître d' Address guest concerns promptly and professionally Support proper wine and beverage service standards as directed by the General Manager Ensure bathrooms and public areas remain clean throughout service Exhibit a sense of urgency while maintaining composure Closing Duties Ensure all FOH team members complete closing checklists thoroughly and efficiently Oversee proper breakdown of service stations, dining room reset, and organization of storage areas Confirm all beverages, tools, and supplies are cleaned and stored correctly Secure the dining room and communicate any service notes or unusual circumstances to the General Manager Assist with checking out Hosts and FOH staff as needed Compensation Details Compensation: Salary ( $50,000–$60,000 ) with performance-based bonus opportunities Benefits & Perks Health Insurance Paid Time Off Dining Discounts Wellness & Mental Health Resources Wine and service education under the General Manager Growth opportunities within the restaurant More detail about MaMou, please visit
