Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Overview The St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking a candidate for the position of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Experience is not necessary, but preferred. Duties Prepare and prosecute criminal cases by conducting thorough investigations, drafting legal documents, and presenting evidence in court.
Negotiate plea agreements and settlement terms with defense attorneys and other parties to facilitate efficient case resolutions.
Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
Draft clear and persuasive legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and reports that adhere to professional standards.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to gather evidence and provide legal guidance on complex investigations involving multiple jurisdictions.
Maintain meticulous case records and manage administrative tasks within the law office to ensure timely progression of cases.
Experience Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce precise legal drafting tailored for courtroom presentation or official documentation.
Pay: $63,000.00 - $80,308.00 per year
