Databricks Engineer

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions using Databricks.Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark, PySpark, or Scala.Develop and maintain Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (formerly Delta Live Tables/DLT).Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and Delta Lake solutions.Design and maintain enterprise data models using star and snowflake schemas.Develop Databricks SQL Dashboards, Databricks Apps, and analytics solutions.Implement data governance, data quality, validation, and security best practices.Optimize workloads, monitoring, scheduling, and operational processes for scalability and performance.Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.Minimum Qualifications8+ years of IT experience supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions.8+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, including building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark.8+ years of experience in data warehousing and dimensional data modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas).8+ years of experience with SQL and Python (or Scala) for large-scale data processing.8+ years designing and developing dashboards and applications within Databricks (Databricks SQL Dashboards, Databricks Apps).8+ years implementing data governance, data quality, and security practices.8+ years implementing Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (DLT).8+ years working with Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture, Data Lakehouse design, and workflow orchestration tools such as Lakeflow Jobs or Airflow.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in Texas State Government or Public Sector environments.Databricks Certified Data Engineer (Associate or Professional).Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Git-based workflows.Work ScheduleMonday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMHybrid schedule: 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (Mondays & Thursdays)Local candidates only (Austin, TX area)
