The Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the hotel’s facilities, systems, and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for guests and team members.This role supports the Engineering team by performing preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring that the property remains in excellent working condition.Requested TasksPerform preventative maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, systems, and facilitiesRespond to maintenance requests from guests and team members in a timely and professional mannerMaintain guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure functionality and safetyTroubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems as neededConduct regular inspections of building systems and equipmentAssist with maintaining tools, equipment, and engineering workspacesSupport energy conservation and sustainability initiatives when applicableMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairsEnsure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policiesWork collaboratively with other departments to support smooth hotel operationsAdhere to Makeready’s Guiding PrinciplesPerform additional duties and assignments as requiredRequested CapabilitiesPrior experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance preferredBasic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsAbility to troubleshoot and complete repairs independentlyStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced hospitality environmentProfessional and service-oriented demeanorAbility to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when neededAbility to stand, walk, climb ladders, and move throughout the property for extended periodAbility to lift objects weighing up to 50 poundsAbility to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing maintenance tasksAbility to work with tools and mechanical equipmentAs part of the Makeready collection, we proudly offer a variety of thoughtful benefits and perks for eligible team members including accommodating PTO/PTO exchange, medical/dental/vision benefits, maternity/paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care & 401k, student loan repayment program and a wide range of additional ancillary benefits.
