Operations Engineer

Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.OPERATIONS ENGINEER This operations engineer is a part of the Process and Material Planning team at the Rocket Development and Test facility, supporting Falcon, Dragon, Raptor, Starship, and Ground Support Equipment programs. This role applies engineering principles, data science skills, and on-the-floor experience to support a wide range of teams on site, from supply chain to fabrication, and from propellant systems to test equipment engineering. This engineer conducts analysis, builds tools, and designs the processes needed to enable efficient and agile operations across the site, with a focus on Supply Chain and Planning functions.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain tools to analyze delivery, capacity, and cost problems, informing decisions for planning, supply chain, test, and operations, using SQL, Python, and ExcelDefine and develop department-level metrics that quantify the health of our operation and influence change to positively impact reliability, cost, and agilityDesign and maintain data visualizations using Grafana and Power BI software toolsSupport ad-hoc data analysis requests from leadership to drive headcount, labor allocation, cost-saving, and project management decisionsLead process improvement initiatives to minimize waste, increase cost savings, improve safety, increase agility, and eliminate production hurdlesDrive alignment with supply chain, test, launch, and fabrications teams at other SpaceX sites across the country to reduce duplicated workFlexibly support planners during times of increased part/process demandFacilitate knowledge transfer when new software functionality is rolled out or fabrication/production best practices are proven Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline1+ years of experience in a production, manufacturing, operations, or supply chain role1+ years of experience in using Excel, SQL, or Python for data analysis or project schedulingPreferred Skills And ExperienceOn the floor manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse experienceExperience creating and maintaining SQL databasesExperience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, GrafanaExposure to enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemsExperience in a manufacturing or distribution environmentExperience with process mapping and process improvementAbility to identify and maintain priorities for tasks and projectsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and with a teamExperience as a contributor to multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teamsExperience developing and maintaining agentic workflowsAdditional RequirementsMust be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed based on operational needs; flexibility requiredAbility to lift lightweight supplies or materials (up to 25lbs unassisted)Must be willing to travel up to 10%This position is based in McGregor, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredItar RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
