Software QA Automation Engineer (Web/API)We're seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our team as a Software QA Automation Engineer, responsible for performing both manual and automated quality testing on financial and securities trading front-end applications. The role requires a strong understanding of security financial data and securities trading, proven experience leading front-end web application testing, and a collaborative yet decisive approach to ensure high quality results. This is an individual contributor position that requires hands-on test automation, mobile and API testing, and leadership to guide and collaborate with offshore teams.What you will doDesign, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for Web and API applications.Implement testing strategies, automation frameworks, and best practices to ensure end-to-end quality.Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to align testing efforts with project requirements.Serve as a bridge between onshore and offshore QA teams, ensuring smooth coordination, knowledge sharing, and timely issue resolution.Lead and mentor QA teammates, providing technical guidance and enforcing best QA practices.Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Continuously improve testing processes, identify gaps, and implement automation where feasible.Identify production roll-testing staffing needs and attend production rolls as required.Coordinate tool enhancement needs with the infra/tools team.Communicate findings and status to both technical and non-technical audiences.Work in an agile environment using test management tools such as JIRA/XPML.What you will bringBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years of experience in software development with a proven ability to deliver high quality results, and expertise in test automation, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.Strong hands-on experience in Java Selenium for UI automation.Demonstrated knowledge of Morgan Stanley/E*TRADE financials and securities trading instruments.Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, system dependencies, and product integration phases.Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment with short sprint cycles.Exposure to Atlassian tool sets (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence).Experience in API testing using tools such as Postman and RestAssured.Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with onshore and offshore teams.Preferred QualificationsBS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.Experience with Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Perfecto, SauceLabs cloud, Java, Selenium.We are an equal-opportunity employer.
