Our Space Systems team is responsible for every satellite and satellite component made by us, from complete satellites destined for missions to the Moon and Mars, to the individual components and subsystems that make up a satellite like solar panels, flight software, reaction wheels and star trackers, separation systems, radios, and more.Job DescriptionThe Senior Integration & Test Engineer is responsible for the development, test, and deployment of flight spacecraft systems, as well as the development, maintenance, and upgrading of the test systems for that hardware. You will support the Space Systems organization, with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.Job DutiesLead and own integration and test campaigns at various levels of spacecraft developmentWork collaboratively with team members to define systems requirements, as well as verification and validation plansDevelop acceptance, qualification, and R&D test plans for spacecraft systemsDevelop, maintain, and operate environmental test systems (Vibe, TVAC, Thermal, EMI, etc.)Develop and maintain mechanical and electrical ground support equipment and facilitiesInterface with ground test software and implement flight software configuration changesLead investigations into anomalous vehicle behaviorInterface with hardware-in-the-loop test systemsMust Have QualificationsExperience with environmental testing (i.e. vibration, TVAC, EMI, thermal)Experience writing technical documentation (i.e. writing test plans, procedures, documenting test results, making recommendations for improvements or repairs)Experience with electrical testing equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), signal analyzers, PSU, etc.)Space/aerospace/satellite/spacecraft experienceExperience creating test scripts with C/C++ and/or PythonBachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or other engineering degreeAdditional Nice-to-have QualificationsMaster’s or PhD in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or other engineering degreeExperience with environmental testing, such as thermal vacuum or random vibration testingStrong understanding of satellite subsystems (CDH, ADCS, EPS, and COMM)Experience working in a clean room and with ESD-sensitive equipmentExposure to designing and implementing test systems for electronicsUnderstanding of sensors, signal conditioning and data acquisition electronicsFamiliarity with spacecraft harness design and best practicesExperience with 3D CAD software, preferably NXExperience with RF testing and hardware-in-the-loop testingBasic knowledge of networkingExperience with Linux systemsProficiency with MATLAB and Windows 10 and Microsoft Office productsAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
