Tax / Staff Accountant

We are a public accounting firm in Murfreesboro, TN seeking an in-house Staff Accountant. This position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We can offer as a part-time or full-time position.QUALIFICATIONS OF STAFF ACCOUNTANT:Minimum of 3 years of experience in Bookkeeping required5 years of experience in Tax Preparation (specifically Form 1040 including Sch. C and Sch. E)Other Tax Preparation experience a plus (Form 1065, Form 1120S, Form 1120)Must be QuickBooks proficient (Desktop and Online)Proficient with Outlook, Word, ExcelDetail-oriented and well-organizedExcellent communication skillsDUTIES OF STAFF ACCOUNTANT:Monthly bookkeeping and reconciliationsProcess payroll and payroll returnsProcess W-2s and 1099sProcess other related business filings, such as sales tax, annual reports, etc.Preparation of tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S)Review client records / booksUnderstand and assist with year-end adjustmentsADDITIONAL DUTIES:Organize and maintain client filesManage workflow and work independentlyCorrespond professionally with clients to obtain information as needed to complete accounting workMaintain a positive and professional appearance and attitudeSome administration duties (answering phones, assisting clients, etc.)Assist staff with other tasks as neededAdditional hours required during tax seasonPAY:Based on skills and experienceBENEFITS:Benefits are offered and will be discussed during interview.
