Time: July 6 - July 23, Monday - Thursday/ Professional Learning: June 24 - June 25), Department/Campus: LESPay Stipend: $45 per hourStaff Schedule: 8:00 - 4:00. Student Schedule 8:30 - 3:30Description Primary Purpose:Serve as instructional leader for the summer school program. Interview and hire all summer school staff including teachers. Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance. Direct and manage all programs and campus activities and supervise operations and personnel at campus level.Education/Certification:In District Only - Must be a current Manor ISD employee to be eligible to applyMaster's degree in educational administration;Texas Mid-management or other appropriate Texas certificate;Special Knowledge/Skills:Working knowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to coordinate campus functionsAbility to manage budget and personnelAbility to interpret policy, procedures, and dataAbility to evaluate instructional programAbility to evaluate teaching effectivenessStrong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skillsExperience:Three to five years of experience as a classroom teacherOne to three years of experience in instructional leadership rolesPrincipal/AP experience requiredEssential Job Functions:Work with sending campuses to ensure criteria is applied to all eligible students. Create and disseminate the summer school registration process and communicate directly with parents, teachers, and campus administrators to ensure forms are received back and that students are enrolled in programming.Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions for improvement, as well as for recognition of success.Ensure fidelity of use and implementation of summer school curriculum and resources.Interview, select, and orient new staff. Approve all personnel assigned to campus.Define expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with the public.Approve all time sheets, leave, and substitute requests.Ensure summer school teacher to student ratios are maintained throughout summer programming.Comply with district policies and state and federal laws and regulations.Develop campus budgets based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel, and other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits. Maintain fiscal control and accurately report fiscal information.Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.Manage use of school facilities. Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus.Inventory supplies and resources and ensure delivery of district summer school resources and curriculum to district warehouse.Supervisory Responsibilities:Ensure that all staffing for summer school positions, including teachers and support personnel, is completed by May 20, 2026Identify and schedule students needing to attend summer programLead both Summer School ProgramsDevelop master schedule for summer schoolSupervise student disciplineSupervise summer school teachers and staffMaintain accurate attendance and credit records to certify grades at the end of summer schoolProvide professional development and training for summer school staffCoordinate with transportation and food servicesEquipment used:Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipmentWorking Conditions:The working conditions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
