Construction Laborer

About Us: JME is a commercial and residential construction contractor that performs sitework, utility, demolition, land stabilization, retaining wall, and trucking services. Our shop and office are located in Plum Borough. Work is performed throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. Assist in excavation and earth grading, installation of underground utilities, demolition of site and building structures, unloading/loading material and supplies, erecting retaining walls and other structures, and other various construction activities Assist in setting up and maintaining traffic control Assist other trades in performing their duties Operate small and medium-sized equipment, which consists of jumping jack tampers, plate tampers, trench compactors, jackhammers, saws, pumps, air tools, and other various construction equipment Set up lasers for performing utility and other construction work Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency on-site Perform other duties required by management Job Competencies: Clear and concise communication skills Safety Oriented Able to reliably and safely operate company vehicles when needed Able to follow directions for different construction tasks. Basic competency in math, geometry, volumes, and weights Able to read and comprehend plans and construction standards in order to perform work correctly and safely Mobility – Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Also required to physically move light and heavy objects Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when needed by management Experience Knowledge: Experience in earthwork and underground utility construction- Preferred Basic technology skills for the use of different company software and hardware Other Requirements: Valid PA Driver's License Must be 18 years of age or older Reliable transportation to and from work Ability to pass a drug screening and background check High School Diploma or Equivalent JME Inc. is a family-owned and operated excavating company that has been serving the Pittsburgh region for over 35 years.
