Tax Manager

We are seeking a technically advanced Tax Supervisor/Manager to support and scale a complex, multi-entity tax practice. This role is designed for a tax professional with deep expertise in federal and state tax law, strong analytical rigor, and progression toward final review and signing authority. The position requires a proactive advisor who can interpret evolving tax regulations, manage technical engagements, and elevate the quality of client deliverables. This role is 100% onsite in the Spokane - Coeur d Alena area.Core ResponsibilitiesPerform technical review of complex tax returns, including:High-net-worth individual (Form 1040)Multi-tiered partnerships (Form 1065, K-1 allocations, 704(b)/(c))C-Corporations and S-Corporations (Forms 1120/1120S)Interpret and apply federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance and optimize client tax positionsResearch and analyze tax issues related to: Partnership taxation (allocations, basis tracking, distributions)Lead technical tax planning initiatives, including entity structuring, tax minimization strategies, and transaction analysisServe as primary technical resource on complex engagements; provide guidance on IRC interpretations and regulatory changesProgress toward final review and signing authority, including risk assessment and engagement acceptance decisionsInterface with clients in an advisory capacity, delivering insights tied to tax strategy, compliance risk, and business impactQualificationsMust be able to work 100% onsite in Spokane - Coeur d Alena areaActive CPA license required5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, with a strong emphasis on technical reviewDemonstrated depth in partnership taxation and corporate tax complianceResearch capabilities using authoritative sources (IRC, Treasury Regulations, case law, and tax research platforms such as CCH or Thomson Reuters)Experience with complex ownership structures, multi-entity consolidations, and intercompany transactionsBenefits:401k + matchMedical/Dental – 100% paid for employeeLife + long term disabilityPTO – 4 weeks annuallyThey will pay for 40 hours of CPE + CPA licensing
