OverviewA LifeWise teacher will combine in-depth Bible knowledge and outstanding teaching abilities to share the gospel with churched and unchurched public school students in a classroom setting. Our ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching children. If you're interested in this position, apply on the program's webpage.Qualifications and ExperienceA minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (with students) in either a school orchurch settingA mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of FaithActive participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of FaithJob DescriptionComplete Initial and Ongoing TrainingComplete the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course prior to teachingParticipate in the annual LifeWise Summit each yearAttend at least one Teachers' Lounge or one LifeWise Meet-Up per yearStay up to date on training and updates by regularly checking LifeWise emailTeach LifeWise ClassesUtilize the LifeWise curriculum to lesson plan and map out curriculum customizationImplement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroomInvest in connecting with students through building relationships and praying for them regularlyCultivate an organized, encouraging and engaging classroom environment through various teaching strategies and discipline that is redemptive in natureApply LifeWise policies, procedures and resourcesMaintain RecordsTake attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise program director and/or school officials as neededMaintain accurate class rosters including health concerns, special needs of students and photo permissions as noted on parent permission slipsPrepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher as neededMaintain the ClassroomMaintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroomKnow procedures for dealing with emergency situationsPurchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by program directorCommunicateAct as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the communityAttend annual school open house and other outreach events as availableMaintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-beingBuild relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changesSubmit regular updates, stories and photos to program directorPromote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and beliefsBenefitsRetirement plan, including employer matchLifeWise Academy's hiring practices and EEO Statement are fully in compliance with both federal and state law.
