Job Description Senior Sales & Proposal Engineer Job DescriptionSummaryThe successful Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for marketing and selling all of the company’s steelmaking and casting equipment products in the NAFTA market, provide aftermarket support in the form of service and revamp proposals, and to represent the company’s interests in general.Who we areEnsure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application. We offer company events, activities, and opportunities to participate in charitable initiatives that benefit the communities where we are located.What you'll doIn conjunction with the Sales Managers, Engineering Department and Automation Department, determines which references will be used for equipment and for cost.Management of proposal writing and editingManages sales calls and attends sales functions, as requiredManagement of layout work for proposal preparationManagement of proposal, metallurgical and process calculationsProject coordination with team members in the proposal stageCoordination of engineering work for proposal preparation.Prepare and edit cost estimates for proposed project.Technical presentation of proposals to prospective customersTechnical presentation of SMS group to prospective customersContacts and coordination with main mechanical vendors for proposal purposesInter-departmental or inter-company contacts concerning proposalsDeveloping and executing marketing strategy for NAFTA region customers, including customer communications and visitsIdentifying potential projects (new equipment and aftermarket), selecting appropriate technologies, and developing technical and commercial specificationsProject management of the company’s NAFTA contracts including customer and supplier liaisonCustomer support / liaison of the company’s domestic referencesApproximately 15-20% travel required for customer and supplier visits or internal company meetingsWhat you'll needBS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or Metallurgical degree requiredMinimum 10 years experience working with industrial steelmaking and/or continuous casting technology, in solidification, heat transfer, thermodynamics, heat processing / melting applications.
