Founded in 2004, based in Dallas with offices in TX (Austin, Houston, San Antonio), Denver, Winchester VA, and Hyderabad .Serves markets including data centers, aviation, healthcare, distribution/logistics, parking structures, advanced manufacturing, and corporate.Structural Engineer Position SummaryCandidate must possess significant experience in the design and documentation of complex medium tolarge building structures for commercial, institutional, mission critical, educational, aviation, orhealthcare projects. The position requires the management of design team members and working withother senior engineers (Project Manager, Senior Project Managers, Associate Principals and Principals) inthe delivery of projects including delivering required project documentation and calculations.Supervisory responsibilities will vary from project to project. The position will have direct interaction withclients and has great potential for position advancement and continuing career development.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:Technical Perform work generally under the direction of the licensed professional engineer who is stampingthe project and in concert with senior engineers. Manage other design professionals as assigned Perform structural analysis and design through hand calculations or computer modeling, asdirected Perform structural detailing with assistance of senior engineers as need Responsible for all technical aspects of assigned tasks and projects Assists team members and senior engineers in development or oversight of following as directed:Selection of project materials and structural configurationsPreparing general notes and selection typical details for projectsPreparing structural specifications from Master SpecificationsCoordinating structural design with architectural and other engineering disciplinesDelivering project documentation and calculations on schedule and within budget Provide construction contract administration services including answering RFI’s, reviewing shopdrawings and submittals as directed Perform site observations and prepares written reports of observations as directed Author reports of diagnostic investigations and other studies as directed Support other senior engineers on larger projects Continuously review work and processes to improve efficiency Conduct peer reviews of other projects Seals own work and work of others under direct supervision as requested by senior engineers Develop and present content for internal technical training Participate in company committees for development of processes and maintaining standardsContinuously review work and processes to improve efficiency Work on multiple projects simultaneouslySupervisory Assist with creating project work plan including tasks with budgeted time for each task and assistsin managing team workload Assist in planning and leading structural design work sessions, both internal and external Assist in managing and directing design team members to a successful project completion Assist in coordinating tasks for design team and reviews work for acceptance Assist leadership in staff performance evaluations as requestedClient Liaison Attends client meetings as requested Documents and reports meeting discussionsBusiness Development Engage counterparts with external project contacts and develops and grows networkingrelationships Attend networking events, open houses, and industry events Assist in developing work plans for project pursuits Participate in project pursuit interviews, as requestedMinimum Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)Educational, Experience, and Licensing Requirements BS in Architectural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis) from an EAC/ABET accreditedprogram, required MS in Architectural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis) from an EAC/ABET accreditedprogram, preferred Minimum of six (6) years of experience (may be reduced with MS degree and/or SE license) Must have been conferred a PE license in state of residence (structural designation) Successful completion of the NCEES Structural Engineering exam (16 hours) preferred Expert in Bentley RAM Structural System or Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) and related programmodules Autodesk Revit and BIM 360Skills Must have strong working knowledge of applicable building and reference codes Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs Must have experience working with concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, and wood Demonstrates a sound working knowledge of current role and the impact the role has on otherbusiness functions with the organization Able to identify and resolve potential problems by timely gathering and analyzing information Displays the ability to follow detailed procedures to ensure accuracy of work Effectively communicates in a timely and clear manner to internal and external stakeholders Proactively solve problems without immediately looking for outside helpPage 3 of 3 Demonstrates strong interpersonal relationship skills Inclination to be a team player who shares key information with others involved in a project andwith colleagues Continuously learning and improving skills and stays current on trends within our industry Displays ability to set high standards and demonstrate excellence, ensuring quality in every aspectof work performed Takes personal responsibility and ownership of one’s work and self-initiates corrective action whenneeded Remains positive during times of adversity Demonstrates desire to mentor and share knowledgePHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers Close vision (Clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision.
