Are you living your life's work?Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Coordinator to join the Inpatient Pharmacy team and work alongside some of the best medical providers in Philadelphia.Job Title: Pharmacy Clinical CoordinatorLocation: Penn Presbyterian Medical CenterReports To: Director of PharmacyPosition SummaryThe Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator is responsible for optimizing the delivery of pharmacy services to support high-quality patient care at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). This leadership role oversees clinical pharmacy programs, formulary management, cost-containment strategies, and educational initiatives. The Coordinator will advance pharmacy practice, provide professional development for pharmacists, residents, students, and interprofessional teams, and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Program DevelopmentOversee a team of nine clinical pharmacy specialists (4 Critical Care, 2 Infectious Diseases, 1 Internal Medicine, 2 Emergency Medicine).Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical pharmacy programs to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.Monitor drug utilization and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality of care.Formulary & Medication ManagementRepresent PPMC at System Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee and chair the local P&T Committee.Manage formulary processes, including non-formulary and high-cost inpatient medication requests.Coordinate strategies for managing drug shortages and ensure timely communication to staff.Education & Professional DevelopmentOversee staff education and competency programs.Serve as Residency Program Director for four PGY1 pharmacy residents.Coordinate experiential learning opportunities with local pharmacy schools.Quality Improvement & ComplianceParticipate in hospital-wide quality improvement projects and ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication safety and clinical outcomes.QualificationsPharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.Completion of a PGY1 residency strongly preferred; PGY2 or equivalent experience preferred.Current licensure as a pharmacist in Pennsylvania.Minimum 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience, including leadership responsibilities.Strong knowledge of formulary management, drug utilization review, and cost-containment strategies.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Preferred CompetenciesExperience managing pharmacy residency programs.Ability to lead and mentor clinical teams in a dynamic healthcare environment.We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
