We look for practical, hands-on experience, not theoretical familiarity.This RoleWe are hiring Software Engineers at Senior to Staff levels. As a Software Engineer, Full Stack at Norm Ai, you'll work across all aspects of our code stack, building intuitive tools transforming legal workflows. You'll partner closely with design, client engagement, other engineering teams, and end users to bring new product ideas to life.How You’ll WorkSoftware Engineers at Norm typically align to one of two areas. Product engineers own the associate, partner, and operations-facing surfaces of our enterprise application: the workflows, UI, and AI-powered features that make the product indispensable to the Norm Law teams. Backend engineers focus on the shared components and systems leveraged by our product engineering teams, building highly scalable, reusable, and fault-tolerant services, including document processing, AI orchestration, and integration pipelines, in close collaboration with our AIRE and Platform teams.Skills & Experience - CoreBachelor’s or Master’s in computer science or an equivalent field, or equivalent practical experience4+ years of experience writing application-layer Python for production use2+ years of experience writing React + TypeScript, or similar, for production useExperience working with a Postgres database or similarExperience writing APIs using a framework such as FastAPI or similar for production useInterest or experience working with a complex AI-driven product (e.g. streamed outputs, dynamic agentic site navigation)Interest or experience working with PDFs, Excel, or file-driven productsSkills & Experience - PlusesExperience dealing with database scaling problemsExperience building highly configured or abstracted UIs tied to editable schemas stored in a databaseExperience working with AWS infrastructure or similarExperience working at an early-stage startupExcited to work on product and iterate with customersComp and BenefitsSenior Engineer: $190,000 -$250,000 per year + equityStaff Engineer: $240,000 - $280,000 per year + equityThe range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This range reflects base salary only and does not include equity or benefits.We offer a competitive compensation package including equity, a 401(k) with employer match, and comprehensive insurance (health, dental, hospital, accident, and vision).
