You will require an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.The Director, Actuarial of Medicaid Pricing will report to the Associate VP, Lead Medicaid Actuary.Rate AdvocacyLead proactive rate advocacy efforts across assigned Medicaid marketsIdentify gaps between emerging experience vs. state rate assumptionsDevelop clear, evidence-based narratives to support rate adequacy discussions with state actuaries and regulatorsPartner with market CFOs and leadership to align on advocacy posture, trade-offs, and prioritiesDrive earlier engagement with states prior to draft rate developmentRepresent the organization in external forumsFinancial Insight & Risk IdentificationTranslate financial results into actionable insightsSupport reforecast cycles with clear articulation of financial driversIdentify opportunities to improve financial outcomes in maturing marketsMarket PartnershipServe as the actuarial thought partner to market leadership, finance, and clinical teamsCollaborate with Finance, Health Care Economics, market operation teamsTeam LeadershipLead and develop a team of actuaries; coach toward strategic thinking and storytellingStandardize approaches to rate review, communication, and escalation of risksUse your skills to make an impactRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree7 or more years of actuarial experienceDeep experience with Medicaid rate setting or state actuarial processesExperience working directly with state agencies or consulting on Medicaid rates5 or more years of management experienceFSA or ASAMAAAExperience in more than three functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending)Preferred QualificationsTrack record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without authorityDemonstrated leadership capability, has led sizable staff beforeExperience in leading other human capital leadersAdditional InformationAbility to travel up to 15% within the United StatesThis is a remote position.Work At Home / Internet InformationAt minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$189,400 - $260,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
