We need safe, smart, dedicated employees who are ready to take on a fulfilling career here at Geneva Rock Products.Job Summary: Under the direction of the Area Manager of Quality Control, the Quality Control Technician is primarily responsible for product quality and providing technical assistance and training for customers and employees.________________________________________________________________________________________________Duties and Responsibilities:Visualize, define, plan, communicate, and implement the company vision and core values.Assist in the responsibility of design and implementation of all concrete mixes.Assist in implementation of concrete sampling and collection of retained cement samples for quality control.Provide in-house testing of ready mixed concrete for operations and customers (e.g. slump, air, strength).Assist in research and development of new products.Monitor concrete pours including technical, supervision, quality control and trouble shooting concrete problems.Provide technical training for concrete employees and customers.Review and interpret concrete specifications.Provide data entry and review of statistical information for future decision analysis.Assist in customer service through job site visits, office visits, and pre-construction meetings.Advise senior concrete engineer of any quality control situations outside of scope of ability.Perform plant inspections and quality control procedures.Provide advice on concrete mix designs on projectsResponsible to assist with design and implementation of concrete mixes.Assist with billing on specific project and clients.Update concrete technical library and quality control manuals.Accumulate data that will provide statistical information for future decision analysis.Assist in National Ready-Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) plant inspections and quality control procedures.Make job site decisions concerning mix designs, production and quality control in the field.Maintain insurable driving record.Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.________________________________________________________________________________________________Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)ACI Field Grade I CertificationAmerican Concrete InstituteExperience in the construction industryCollege level algebra; chemistry (1 year)________________________________________________________________________________________________Individual Development (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):Excellent customer service skillsExceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skillsAbility to review and analyze financial informationStrategic thinking skillsIntermediate Microsoft Office skills________________________________________________________________________________________________Training and Development:Essential LeadershipCustomer ServiceCrucial ConversationsCrucial ConfrontationsBusiness EtiquetteBusiness WritingEnvironmental ComplianceDefensive DrivingViewpointAmerican Concrete Institute, level 1 trainingOrganizational/ Time ManagementDevelop knowledge of Type B concrete air meter, volumetric air meter, and slump cone.This description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or work conditions associated with this job.
