Our tools help manufacture the heart of most consumer electronics on the market today, including computer, hard drive, non-volatile memory, smartphones, GPS units, and other emerging technical products.Position Title: Install Engineering Team (IET) Engineer ContractorLocation: Hillsboro, OregonPosition Type: Contract to hireEstimated contract length: This is a temporary, contract role with an expected duration of 1 yearShift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekend work usually required during project builds up to 3 Saturdays per monthEnvironment: Cleanroom Environment (more than 50% of the time)Travel: 50-80% Domestic Travel RequiredPosition Overview:We are looking for a candidate for contract work on the Nikon Install Engineering Team who can work with a group of technicians to set and build Nikon lithography scanners. This work takes place inside the customer’s cleanroom. You will be required to perform strenuous physical work in a cleanroom suit. The work performed requires attention to detail and a high importance on workmanship quality.Description of responsibilities:Performs technical tasks of limited scope with assistance. Learns to set up electronic, mechanical, optical units to ensure equipment performs to specification.Provides technical support of process piping and electro-mechanical systems as related to semiconductor equipment installationsWork involves isolating and defining unknown conditions and resolving critical problemsAbility to lay cabling and to perform construction work in accordance with specifications and proceduresAbility to take physical field measurements and conduct facility verificationAbility to use measurement toolsRequired Skills/Abilities:Communicates in a clear, accurate and courteous manner with customers and colleaguesProjects a positive and professional image of self and NikonProficiency with common hand tools: adjustable wrenches, drivers, torque wrenches, socket drivers, etc.Interest in the semiconductor industry and latest technological advancesIf you have most or all of the following, please apply:2-year associates degree in electrical, mechanical, or related field plus 2-5 years related experience in mechanical/electrical engineering within semiconductor industryWorking in cleanroom experienceHeavy industry experienceWork Environment:This job is performed in a clean-room environment which requires the worker to wear a cleanroom suit including face-covering the entire workdayPhysical Requirements:The focus of this job is the building or disassembling of heavy machinery which requires repetitive activities such as pushing, pulling, and lifting of mechanical units, cabling, hoses, and other related activities during the course of the workdayThe typical workday requires the worker to be on their feet the majority of the timeDuring the typical workday, the worker will typically walk between 10,000 to 15,000 stepsEqual Employment Opportunity:Nikon Precision Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
