Faculty are hired, evaluated, and retained on the basis of conditions covered in the union contract. Primary duties include teaching and related activities assigned during a term of 4.5 months. It is expected that each faculty member engages in teaching and teaching-related activities. Non-tenure track faculty report to a department chairperson or director.Teaching: faculty members are expected to teach; develop syllabi and teaching materials (ability to organize, analyze, and present knowledge or materials) related to courses taught.
