The present company was formed in 1959 when the Magnethermic Corporation acquired the assets of Ajax Electrothermic Corp. combining their expertise and capabilities.Position Summary: The Coil Fabrication & Repair Technician is responsible for the complete manufacturing, repair, and refurbishment of induction coils used in industrial heating applications. This includes coil winding, brazing, casting, hosing, and full mechanical assembly. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and the discipline to follow established processes while maintaining high quality and productivity standards. The technician will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality assemblies that meet engineering specifications, production schedules, and company standards.Job Duties: - Wind induction coils to specification using copper tubing and forming tools - Perform brazing and soldering operations to assemble coil components - Prepare and complete coil casting processes, including mold prep, pouring, and curing - Install cooling hoses, fittings, and connections per engineering requirements - Complete full coil assembly including structural components and mounting features - Inspect incoming coils for damage, wear, and failure points - Perform repairs including re-brazing, re-hosing, and component replacement - Rebuild coils to meet original design and performance standards - Document repair findings and communicate issues to supervisors and engineering - Perform in-process inspections to ensure workmanship meets company standards - Identify defects and take corrective action immediately - Maintain traceability of materials and work performed - Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and team members to resolve issues and improve processes - Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of heated materials and tools - Accurately charge time to jobs to support production tracking and utilization goals - Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing initiatives, and standardization efforts across the department. - Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in clean, safe, and organized condition.What you need to be successful: - High school diploma or equivalent - 2+ years of experience in fabrication, welding, brazing, or mechanical assembly - Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skillset - Ability to work with copper tubing and precision components - Proven experience in: soldering copper brazing copper bending copper tubing - Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints - Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with induction heating equipment or induction coil manufacturing & repair - Basic understanding of electrical conductivity and joint integrity requirements - Familiarity with pressure/leak testing of cooling systems - Experience in OEM or custom industrial equipment manufacturing environment.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
