Plastics Engineering Project Manager
Salary: $85k-$140kUp to 50% travel ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage all aspects of projects of moderate size, complexity, and duration (from initiation to delivery)Secure appropriate resources for the project team. Develop and manage staffing plans for project team.Coordinate members of the cross-functional project team including engineers, designers, technicians, business team partners, manufacturing, production planning, IT, and procurementDevelop project plans, schedules, work plans, estimate resources and costs for all stages, and facilitate the creation and presentation of business casesWork in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to define the project scope, goals, and deliverablesManage creation of product requirements, technical assessments, production line capability reviews, prototyping plans, and production approval processesDocument and track project plans against project milestones and budgetsDevelop and maintain relationships with team members, project sponsor, and stakeholdersManage the integration of vendor and/or supplier tasks and track the deliverablesMaintain continuous alignment of project scope with defined strategic business objectivesCommunicate both technical and non-technical information to all levels of staff and managementMonitor progress and critical path of projects. Identify problems impeding progress, and work creatively and analytically demonstrating teamwork and innovation in order to resolve problems and roadblocksCommunicate risks, changes, action items, resource deficits, and other information relating to the project to leadershipProactively manage scope change requestsProvide reports, updates and feedback to project team and managementIdentify successful and unsuccessful project elements after project completion and provide recommendations for improvementAdministratively close projects with final report, updated project financials, and lessons learnedMentor other Engineering Project ManagersCOMPETENCIESCollaborationCommunicationContinuous ImprovementDecision MakingOn-going LearningPersonal AccountabilityTrust & ReliabilityEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESRequires one of the following:Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering, business, or a technical related field of study and three (3) years of project management related experience, ORAssociate degree and eight (8) years project management related experience, ORHigh school diploma or equivalent and twelve (12) years of project management related experienceAbility to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects, and prioritiesAbility to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on work projects, and communicate with project partnersDemonstrated ability to work independently with general supervisionExcellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related processesDemonstrated ability to understand and apply financial analysisKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of productsIntermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.Knowledge of SAP and Stage Gate, preferredProject management training or training in project management related fields to include risk, quality, and scheduling, preferredPMP Certification, preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSUp to 50% travel required, additional travel may be required during critical projects or business demandsAbility to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passportRequires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hireWork is split between an office environment, production facility, and/or warehouse depending on the project
