Job Description: Mechanical Engineer –Electromechanical Engineering Position OverviewThis engineering role focuses on leading the design, development, and integration of advanced electromechanical systems. The position combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on engineering work, particularly in the area of electronic packaging and subsystem hardware development.The individual will contribute to multiple concurrent programs, supporting the design and integration of complex electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware while guiding engineering teams and ensuring alignment with overall system requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical solutions for electronic assemblies and subsystem componentsDefine technical direction and support requirements development for complex engineering initiativesPerform and oversee structural, thermal, and mechanical analyses to validate designsProvide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers across multiple disciplinesFacilitate design reviews and contribute to risk identification and mitigation planningDevelop, review, and approve engineering drawings, documentation, and hardware test setupsWork closely with supply chain partners and external vendors to source components and materialsSupport system integration, build, and validation activitiesDrive continuous improvement efforts and promote engineering best practices across teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineSeveral years of experience in electromechanical system design and developmentStrong knowledge of electronic packaging, structural design, and thermal managementAbility to interpret technical requirements and translate them into practical solutionsExperience working in cross-functional engineering environmentsStrong communication skills with the ability to influence and guide technical teamsU.S. Citizenship requiredAbility to meet eligibility requirements for a government security clearancePreferred QualificationsActive security clearanceExperience with complex system integration or high-reliability hardware applicationsExperience in industries requiring strict engineering standards (e.g., regulated or mission-critical environments)Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (such as NX or similar platforms) and lifecycle management systemsPrior experience in technical leadership or leading multi-disciplinary teamsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $57.00/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
