MakeUseOf - Windows Editor

This position will operate on a remote, freelance basis.MakeUseOf.comis looking for an Editor to lead its Windows section. In this role, you will be overseeing all Windows content for the site, and contributing to the creation pipeline.About UsMUO is one of the largest technology publications on the web today. Every article leaves the reader with something valuable to take away.Our Windows section teaches readers how to best make use of Windows, by unraveling complexity, solving common problems, and fostering appreciation for the platform.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for editing, fact-checking, and providing feedback on articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelinesMonitor the article schedule using tools such as Asana or our in-house CMS to ensure that publication targets are metReview (and assist in crafting) pitches to the Windows section for quality and suitabilityContribute to the development of SEO researched ideas, and generate Windows topics for the writer baseReview and assess due dates associated with tasksSelf-publish to the section (or other sections on the site) to meet the writing quotaExpected to be present and engaged in required meetingsWhat We're Looking ForExperience in writing and editing for an online tech publicationExpert knowledge of everything WindowsFirst-hand experience with the Windows system (must have Windows 10/11 with the expectation of updating to the latest version ASAP after it's made available)Be highly organized with great time management skillsPosses proficient communication skills with remote teamsApplication RequirementsCV, Cover Letter, Screening QuestionsIn your Cover Letter, please address the following questions: What makes you the right fit for this role?
