Claim Litigation Consultant II will provide credit unions with superior claims service, building and solidifying a strong partnership through proactive professional consultation and delivering optimal solutions to meet their needs on third-party litigated claims. They will also offer consultation on credit union risks and areas for loss prevention as a result of litigation. Collaborate with other claims and product experts to ensure the consistent handling of commercial insurance claims and will be accountable for decision-making regarding the appropriate use of investigators, experts and outside legal counsel. The incumbent will also be accountable for ensuring that recovery processes are integrated into the resolution of their claims.Job ResponsibilitiesProactively manage litigation process on assigned claims to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate to resolutionDecide when external resources will be hired to conduct claim investigations, expert analysis or provide legal servicesCollaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial and Legal staffProactively provide education and information to business partners and credit unions regarding risks and exposures, operations and efficiencies for credit unions and TruStageDemonstration of effective interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, analytical and critical thinking skillsProvide timely reporting as dictated by claim handling guidelinesUnderstanding of applicable statutes, regulations and case lawDemonstrate knowledge of financial services operationsHandle claims in multiple statesEnsure maximum recovery or contribution are pursuedThe above statement of duties is not intended to be all inclusive and other duties will be assigned from time to time.Job RequirementsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 7 years of claims experience with a focus on litigationMust have demonstrated knowledge of policy coverage and interpretation skillsDedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customersDemonstrated problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.Demonstrated ability to work independently, including working effectively in a remote office environment.Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications and general computer skillsSome travel required (mediations, trials and credit union visits)Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely mannerStrong organizational, time management and decision-making skillsEasily adapts to new or different changing situations, requirements or prioritiesAdjuster License and Continuing Education as neededAIC, CPCU or other professional industry education a plusProject management experience a plusIf you’re ready to help make a difference, apply today.
